On Sunday, a man allegedly pulled a gun on a Domino’s Pizza delivery driver and got shot by the driver, who turned out to be armed. The incident took place in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

According to the Albuquerque Journal, Police arrived on scene at approximately 9:30 pm and found the suspect, 52-year-old Gerardo Alvarado, lying in the parking lot near where he allegedly tried to rob the driver. Alvarado first allegedly robbed the Domino’s store itself at gunpoint, then came across the delivery driver in the parking lot upon exiting the store.

Albuquerque Police Department spokesman Tanner Tixier said, “The delivery driver… shot Alvarado in self-defense. No charges are expected to be filed against the delivery driver.” Tixier said Alvarado will be charged once he is released from the hospital. The charges include “armed robbery and attempted armed robbery.”

This is the second time within a week that a Domino’s Pizza driver has defended his life with a firearm. On June 24, Breitbart News reported that an armed Domino’s driver turned the tables on two alleged robbers in Hollywood, Florida, killing one of them.

Domino’s Pizza has a strict policy mandating that their drivers be gun free, i.e., defenseless, but no action against either armed driver has been announced.
