Why All Americans Need to Read "The Mitzvah" -- A Reader Speaks Out

One reader got the message loud and clear: JPFO’s battle to protect the right to keep and bear arms goes beyond guns. The battle is to protect Jews -- and Americans of all races and colors and religions -- from hate and violence and oppression. When Jews (or any other identifiable minority group) vocally oppose the core values that protect them, they are helping the haters and the killers. As the reader points out in his letter (reproduced below), when Jews work against the Bill of Rights, they place themselves squarely against non-Jews who still support America’s premier statement of fundamental rights. Pitting one group against others -- on such fundamental questions -- is exactly what the hate mongers and statists want to happen.

When Jews and other minority groups align themselves against the Bill of Rights and the Second Amendment, they are joining hands with the same groups who brought the world extermination camps, killing fields and gulags. At the same time they adopt the lethal dogmas, they alienate the millions of Americans who want to protect all individuals from oppression. Who loses? Everyone who values our rights and freedoms.

Americans who read and grasp the ideas in "The Mitzvah" will awaken to the dangers we face as a civilization. Mr. Pincus said it very plainly in his letter below (reproduced with permission):

Dear Aaron:

I enjoyed your novel "The Mitzvah." It is well done, holds the reader’s interest and I learned much by reading it. The phrase on the cover "For those who love freedom -- and those who should" is a compelling message that all people in this country must understand if individual liberty is to survive.

In spite of the fact that most anti-gun zealots are not Jewish, thinking people ask the question: "considering what happened to the Jews of Europe during the Hitler era, why are many Jews on the side of those who are against individual gun ownership?" The ban-all-gun position taken by many Jews and Jewish organizations has created a backlash that has done much to promote anti-Semitism. A bigoted demagogue filled with hate could not have done a better job.

The intellectual material produced by JPFO, with its membership of Jew and non-Jew has made it a very aggressive civil rights organization. JPFO has been the leader in the fight against anti-Semitism and all other forms of hate, wherever and to whomever it is directed.

JPFO has earned the respect and support of all people who consider the entire Bill of Rights to be sacred, not just the parts that some may like. Aaron, thank you for your leadership.

All the best,
(signed)
George Pincus

(Many of you were introduced to ideas about liberty from novels by George Orwell and Ayn Rand ... "The Mitzvah" is a shorter, "quick read" book that portrays modern events and contemporary themes familiar to nearly everyone today.)
