History Repeats in France: Persecution of Unarmed Jewish Civilians
"1939 calling Earth ... come in, Earth ..."

We are watching a repeat of the kinds of events that foreshadowed World War II.

Carole Raphaelle Davis has written the latest report aboutvicious anti-semitic violence in France. Here are just twoof many attacks on innocent Jews that Ms. Davis reports:

  • "A 14-year-old boy wearing a yarmulke came out of the Ourqmetro station and was followed by two young men. Theycalled him a "dirty Jew" and robbed him in front of a crowdof witnesses. The men knocked the boy down, beat him on the head and broke his nose. The boy begged for help from passers-by, who simply walked away."
  • "Also in Paris, a 12-year-old girl coming out of a Jewishschool was attacked by two men. They beat her, held herdown and slashed her face with a box cutter. They carved aswastika into her face and walked away."

It is painful to watch the tragedy of a nation that disarmsthe innocent victims in the face of frequent aggression against those victims. Jews worldwide should be callingfor the French government to permit French people topossess and carry defensive sidearms. There is no excusefor allowing a targetted people to be disarmed and placedinto defenselessness by the government.

Jews -- and everyone -- need to learn how civilian disarmament laws place victims into danger and ultimatelyfacilitate widespread violence, even genocide, against those powerless victims. The 20th Century's genocide deathtoll reached 170,000,000.

The facts are known. The connection is documented in our film, "Innocents Betrayed" and in our book, Death by "Gun Control."

Carole Raphaelle Davis has helped by bringing the news of widespread French persecution of Jews. We call upon Ms. Davis, and all other decent Jews, to see "Innocents Betrayed" and then reflect on what Jews really need to doto survive in this increasingly hostile world.

Shall Jews fight for the right of self defense? Or shallJews relinquish all of their power to governments who have a track record of betraying them? Those are the questions for Ms. Davis and everyone else horrified by these events that eerily repeat the history of Europe in 1938-1939.
