CCW Holders Have Murder Rates
One Third That of Police Officers

Dean Weingarten investigates the comparison between the murder rate attributable to concealed carry permit-holders and that within the law enforcement community. His interest was piqued following a report of a CCW holder who had committed a homicide, but who turned out to be a police officer in a domestic situation. Furthermore it did not involve a gun it would appear.
To derive comparative figures involved tracking down sources that could collectively give a fair appraisal towards the conclusions reached. These were based for the most part on domestic homicides, as figures for unjustified homicides committed by police were not available as definitive sources. Many links used for reference are included.
