Hunter Biden, the embattled son of Democrat President Joe Biden, has reportedly "reached a tentative deal" with the U.S. Attorney in Delaware to enter a guilty plea on two misdemeanor tax charges, and enter a "pretrial diversion agreement" on a gun law violation, which the Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms called an "outrage."

"It's an insult to the intelligence of the American people," said CCRKBA Chairman Alan Gottlieb. "Why should anybody respect any gun laws if the president's son gets a pass?"

Gottlieb further said the "anti-gun-rights movement, from the president on down, has lost all credibility" when it comes to advocating for tougher gun control laws.

"None of the gun prohibition lobbying groups have uttered a word of condemnation," Gottlieb noted. "This shows what hypocrites they are, and what a hypocrite Joe Biden is."

According to CBS News, "Hunter Biden's plea will include an acknowledgement that drug use was a contributing factor in his gun crime." Under the terms of this diversionary program, Biden must remain drug-free for two years and not commit any other crimes. If he successfully completes the program, the gun charge will be dismissed.

"This does not amount to a guilty plea," CBS reported.

Essentially, Hunter Biden's Second Amendment rights remain secure, while his father continues his campaign of restrictive gun control.

News of the agreement also brought a furious reaction from former President Donald Trump, who is engulfed in his own legal troubles. Trump reportedly said the agreement is proof the U.S. justice system is "corrupt."

According to Fox News, Trump criticized the agreement, contending it amounts to a "traffic ticket." Lying on a federal Form 4473 about drug use is a felony punishable by fine and imprisonment.

"They gave him a traffic ticket and cleared everything up," Trump reportedly told Fox News Digital following the plea deal announcement Tuesday. "It is a disgrace to the system, it is a disgrace to America, it is a very unfair situation, it is prosecutorial misconduct, and it is election interference — all wrapped up into one."

As noted by the CBS News report, the felony gun charge involves Hunter Biden's "possession of a handgun by a drug user in 2018." The specific handgun is identified as a Colt Cobra, a .38 Special revolver. Biden allegedly had the handgun for 11 days in October 2018, the report said.

According to CNBC, U.S. Attorney for Delaware David Weiss "agreed to recommend to a judge that Hunter receive a sentence of probation for the tax crimes."

He has reportedly paid his back taxes and fines for failing to report income for 2017 and 2018. He borrowed money from his personal attorney to help pay $2 million to the federal government last year.

But it has been the gun law violation which infuriated Second Amendment activists. They have argued no such lenience would be showed to an "average" person in the same predicament. Biden allegedly lied about his drug use when he purchased the gun.

Fox News recalled the firearm was apparently thrown in a dumpster behind a market, near a school, by Hallie Biden, widow of the late Beau Biden, Hunter's brother. At that time, Hunter was in a relationship with Hallie.

"The anti-gun-rights movement, from Joe Biden on down through all of the billionaire-backed gun control groups have just lost whatever credibility they ever had, and ever will have, by not immediately denouncing this deal," CCRKBA's Gottlieb stated. "These elitist anti-gunners must never again be taken seriously by the public, the media or members of Congress and state legislatures when they advocate for tougher gun laws, while remaining silent about the Biden gun crime loophole."
