Form 4473 Firearms Transaction
Record Has Been Revised

On November 14th, 2016, the ATF released the following announcement:

ATF Form 4473, Firearms Transaction Record (Form 4473) has been revised. This article highlights the significant changes to the form. It is highly suggested that you review the entire revised form including all of the Notices, Instructions, and Definitions.

All Federal firearms licensees (FFLs) must begin using this form (see below) on January 16, 2017. After that date, you may no longer use the previous edition (April 2012) of the Form 4473 as it will be obsolete.

Here is information which ideally we should all be aware of, FFL or not. It might be worth, in advance of any purchase next year after 1/16/17, being familiar with the various changes so as to facilitate the total nuisance of form filling!
