Holder reanimates "Frankenstein monster"

"You may have high hopes for the retrieval of your bureaucratic fortunes with this reanimation of the Domestic Terrorism Executive Committee, but the villagers will be watching this time for the operational reappearance of Janet Reno's Frankenstein, with pitchforks, torches, and (not accidentally thanks to your boss) plenty of firearms in their hands when it does," Mike Vanderboegh warned Attorney General Eric Holder yesterday in an open letter posted on the Sipsey Street Irregulars blog.
Vanderboegh, a familiar figure to longtime regular JPFO supporters, is the citizen journalist who first called public attention to ATF whistleblowers expressing concerns about guns the bureau allowed to "walk" being tied in with the death of Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry, in what would come to be exposed as the government's Operation Fast and Furious criminal scheme. His followers know him as a writer, blogger, speaker and founder of the "Three Percent" movement, which he describes as the maximum percentage of "active forces in the field against the King's tyranny" among the colonists of the Revolutionary period.
He was writing Holder about reports that the Department of Justice is putting together a task force "to combat an 'escalating danger' from 'homegrown' terrorists within the United States." He was cautioning against casting a net that would catch up those of us who make our opposition to the conduct of government in contravention of the Constitution known.
As demonstrated in an April JPFO Alert, this latest is coming from a department that escalates suspicions against citizens over such innocuous, and blatantly ridiculous reasons as shaving off your beard, or owning a giant inflatable pink pig (!) while its own agents obstruct Congress on "Insider Threats" within government, and employ known racists, like the one accused of shooting up Jewish facilities in Kansas, as protected informants. This, Vanderboegh explained to Holder, was his third attempt to persuade Holder he is needlessly poking a hornet's nest, although even he will tell you he doubts his concerns will be heeded. He issues such warnings not because he believes tyranny is amenable to reasonable petitions, but as a moral imperative to do everything in his power to avert an ultimate response from abused citizens he foresees as inevitable.
Reminding Holder of his two previous attempts over the past five years to caution for federal restraint, Vanderboegh recalled his warning that there would be "No More Free Wacos" and his attempt to deter "regime misadventure against the armed citizenry" in his "In re U.S. vs. Olofson" open letter.
"You know, sometime later this month, or perhaps next, we are going to pass a signal milestone. By my calculations that is when the FBI will announce the turning over of the citizen armament odometer to 100 million background checks since your collectivist master became president -- ONE HUNDRED MILLION in a little over five years," Vanderboegh observed. "Then consider Clausewitz' observation that 'in military affairs, quantity has a quality all its own.' And this arms race on the part of the citizenry IS a military reality to anyone arrogant enough, grasping enough, and stupid enough to try to force tyranny on the people of this country. Let that sink in a bit. Don't believe me? Ask your analysts, if they haven't already told you.
"And now you want to retrieve the fortunes of your self-discredited militarized bureaucracy by using such tactics against your regime's political opponents whose only crime is that they refuse to be seduced by your lies?" Vanderboegh asked.
His complete open letter really is a "must read," and needs to be shared far and wide, and understood, not as a threat, but as a logical analysis of cause, effect and likely outcomes should those intent on imposing rule instead of protecting freedom overstep legitimate authority with naked oppression. 
Imagine the potentially different endings on all of the state-sponsored genocides of the last century, indisputably documented by JPFO in its attempt to educate all about the real human costs of "gun control," had the subject peoples possessed the ability to warn against aggression and the capability to back their warnings up. Imagine the tyranny that could have been deterred or repelled and the unimaginable, hellish suffering that could have been avoided.
To those who would dismiss such parallels, and counter that tyranny could never happen here, just look at the erosions of liberty, and the abuses of the citizenry we see every day by an increasingly militarized "us vs. them" enforcement apparatus, and then show where in history any civilization is guaranteed stasis.
As I asked many years back, during the reign of another president who rivaled our current one in his fear and despising of an armed citizenry, has not despotism and mass destruction plagued every civilization that preceded ours? Is it not, in fact, still commonplace throughout the globe? By what suspension of reality, by what denial of the observable and the probable, by what art, device or magic are we sheltered few immune from catastrophe? Are we certain, from our brief and privileged vantage point, that such things will ever remain headline curiosities? Is it not just plain stupid to proclaim that our familiar way of life will forever be the norm, when everything that has gone before us shows we are, instead, the extremely lucky beneficiaries of a rare and fortunate convergence of circumstances; and one, by the way, that has only been preserved under force of arms?
If sentiments such as expressed by Vanderboegh are what Holder's task force is looking for as indicators of domestic threats, so be it. If the truth shall set you free, and telling it is a dangerous business, that should be all people of conscience need to know. Perhaps if enough voices join in amplifying those sentiments, presumptive overlords pushing beyond the rule of law will come to understand their incentive for restraint, if not out of principle, then out of pragmatism and self-interest.
Government is the creation of man. Ours was meant to secure the blessings of Liberty. It was never intended to be a destructive monster spreading fear and death among the people.
