Rob Morse draws some comparisons between the civilian CCW gun owner, and police, without wishing to disparage the latter. He points out that it is civilians, not the police, who are most usually the targets of crime, with police often coming to the party late to try and solve a crime.
The bottom line deduction is basically centered around the crime limiting potential of the armed citizen as well as what is essentially a very good safety record. The armed citizen should be seen by politicians as the community's and police's friend -- not the threat so often made out to be.
