Blacks benefit from Florida 'Stand Your Ground'
law at disproportionate rate

African Americans benefit from Florida's "Stand Your Ground" self-defense law at a rate far out of proportion to their presence in the state's population, despite an assertion by Attorney General Eric Holder that repealing "Stand Your Ground" would help African Americans.
The knee-jerk hype over the "Stand Your Ground" law is almost predictable in the light of the Zimmerman acquittal. However, not only was a racial element ruled out in the trial but even supposedly the FBI had already proven such as well. It appears however there are those who will not accept that.
Let's face it, when it comes to legitimate self defense the option to retreat, "stand your ground" or not, is hardly governed by mere choice -- it is driven by circumstance.The main article which is distinctly revealing, is detailed and also has a video player which includes Holder addressing the NAACP -->
