Selective and deceptive reporting makes it worse:

America doesn't have a gun problem—
it has a homicidal-maniac problem

Classic wisdom that, "100 million gun owners killed no one today" remains true;
Media's focus on aberrant social misfits distorts the nation's perspectives.

When mass media somehow delivers stories about a murderer (what they prefer to call "a shooter," subtly giving cover to the criminal and maligning everyone who is armed and goes shooting for practice and safety), it is not news in your home town, thousands of miles away. Local crime stories from places you don't live is a misinformation campaign, falsely vilifying guns and gun owners.

Missing from these reports are all the positive and desirable daily uses of firearms. When asked, "When was the last time you covered a story about the good that guns do?" reporters typically respond, with raised eyebrow, "What do you mean 'the good that guns do'?" JPFO asks this of reporters regularly, with consistent responses like that. Reporters reading this now are scratching their heads, devoid of answers themselves. Violating ethics standards, they cover one side only.

Mass media denizens remain unaware. FBI figures, and privately researched reports make it clear, guns are responsible virtually every day for crimes prevented, lives save and murderers stopped cold. They seek to avoid the "good guy with a gun" angle, but it's there, it's very real, and police appreciate armed citizens helping control the criminal element—both actively and as a deterrent.

Two mass murderers were shot and stopped by armed citizens before committing significant mayhem, shortly after Uvalde and Buffalo tragedies. You didn't know it, and we rest our case.

"Jews for the Preservation of Firearms Ownership, http://www.jpfo.org has been educating the public, mass media, and promoting the fact that guns are why America remains free since 1989, when Aaron Zelman, the son of Holocaust survivors took up this torch of freedom. We are shomrim, the watchers, concerned with safety and deterring tyranny. JPFO recognizes that 'Never again!' is a verb, requiring active support and available arms. So-called 'gun control' doesn't disarm criminals and doesn't control criminal behavior. It's a deceptive effort to disarm the innocent, leaving them helpless in the face of criminals, tyrannical governments and genocide. JPFO speaks with the moral authority and tenacious commitment of survivors of persecution, and knows that surrendering your personal and family safety to government protection invites disaster."
