The inner workings of the 1911
A distinct change of pace! To give some relief to what is all too often depressing news these days, here is an interest item comprising a most effective flash animation of the 1911 semi-auto pistol platform. it is far from new and the chances are that many may have already seen it at some time, bearing in mind the file is about eight years old now. It does require having the Flash plug-in for watching -- available here, latest version.
One very impressive aspect is the mere 90k file size for such a detailed presentation. Click on the picture below to visit the display page, where there is an explanation of viewing options. You will be able to show or hide various key elements of the construction, effectively 'peeling' off external features so as to see operation beneath.
